The West Dunbartonshire property market – 2020 predictions
With holidays done and dusted, we are all slowly waking up to the reality of a new year. We hope you have been re-energised and inspired by the short break and have already started working on your resolution – be it Veganuary, becoming more active or – why not, achieving your next property goal.
If you live in West Dunbartonshire and are thinking about a property move, this is definitely a good moment to start your plans. After December’s elections, the British pound had a bump which signalled a confidence vote to more political stability. It looks like the property market has felt the wave of optimism as well.
Malcolm Button, Senior Valuer at Caledonia Clydebank comments:
“The first few days returning to business in January traditionally provide us with an insight into how the first quarter of the year will pan out.
“Certainly our diaries have filled up very quickly with viewings and valuations. Furthermore, we’ve already seen early offers coming in, so we are extremely confident that the market will be back into 4th gear by the end of January.
“Overall, we predict another bumper year for the Clydebank office.
“We advise clients looking to make a move should be seriously considering doing this now and marketing their own property to maximize their exposure and secure the best possible price.
“We see huge demand for 2, 3, 4 bedroom detached and semi detached properties in Dumbarton, Balloch, Hardgate, Duntocher and Old Kilpatrick as well as other local pockets and, of course, we always have a steady flow of superb smaller properties available at extremely attractive prices when compared to their equivalent properties within the heart of the West End.”
We have also asked Stephen Stoops, Mortgage Adviser at Conquer Mortgage Services for a comment and his predictions on the new year. Stephen said:
“2020 looks to be another good year, following on from a busy 2019; Brexit has been passed and people can now get back to reality. The property market was very consistent in 2019 and I can’t see why 2020 will be any different, lenders are more than willing to lend and interest rates remain low, all making it good news for borrowers and the property market in general.”
