December Events in the West of Scotland
Where has the year gone? It’s now just a couple of few weeks until (dare we mention it…) Christmas, we can’t quite believe it. Although, we do say this every year! If you happen to have any spare time whatsoever, in between work, school events, shopping, Christmas parties, and the obligatory festive preparations, here are some fun events taking place in the West of Scotland this December.
Paisley First WinterFest
Paisley First Winterfest in Paisley Town Centre is on until 24th of December, which is the perfect place to get into the festive spirit. There’s everything available for a great family day, including an open-air ice rink, fantastic rides (including a panoramic Sky Swing!), a Christmas market with a range of stalls and great food and drink vendors, a festive Nutcracker Trail through the town centre, and Santa’s Reindeer themselves!
Head along on the 9th, 10th, 16th and 23rd of December to enjoy the fun, find some lovely gifts, and meet Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner & Blitzen (and even Rudolph himself) in their special reindeer enclosure.
Snow White Pantomime at Paisley Arts Centre
Following on from last year’s sell out production of ‘Aladdin, the PACE Theatre Company is performing the enchanting tale of Snow White as their annual pantomime at Paisley Arts Centre. Running until Saturday 30 December (excl. Sundays), you’re guaranteed to have a thoroughly jolly time, with a blend of original music, fantastic comedy, audience participation, and traditional family fun.
Clydebank Town Hall Winterfest
Celebrate the festive season with a range of panto, cabaret, film, arts and crafts, and Santa’s Grotto at Clydebank Town Hall Winterfest. Open until December 16th, it makes for a great family day out in the run up to Christmas.
The Magical Santa’s Grotto at Loch Lomond Shores
Santa’s Magical Grotto has arrived at Loch Lomond Shores for the very first time this year and it’s the most magical place to take the kids. Until December 24th, you’ll enjoy story-telling from the elves, a sneaky peek in Santa’s amazing workshop, and the chance to write a letter to Santa before boarding the magical train to his house to meet him in person! As you can imagine, he’s very popular, so we recommend buying advanced tickets.
Christmas Market at Cameron House
Featuring a range of local artisans and suppliers, the Christmas Market at Cameron House is a wonderful place to soak up the festive cheer and explore a variety of handmade goods—including art, jewellery, homeware, gifts, clothing, and wonderful food—and what better setting than the magnificent Cameron House. Wrap up warm, grab a cup or hot chocolate of glass of mulled wine, and have a fabulous festive time perusing all the fantastic stalls. You might even find the ideal ‘To Me, From Me’ gift to surprise yourself with on Christmas Day!
